
German rock band Scorpions left the entire town of Shillong dazzled with their music when they performed to a strong 45000 audience in the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Thousands of fans gathered from all around India and as far as Bangkok gathered in the town for the gig. Scorpions kicked off their Asian leg of the 'Humanity World Tour' in newly christened 'Rock Capital' of India.
The attendance recorded was the highest so far for any international band in North East so far. People irrespective of their age where charged up listening to the guitar chords. The band gigged with Rock You Like a Hurricane and their singles Winds of Change, Still Loving You, Send Me an Angel, No One Like Yo. They also performed form their latest album 'Humanity Hour 1' songs like The Future Never Dies, Humanity, and Love Will Keep Us Alive
Lead vocalist Klaus Meine said that he felt great to be in the 'Rock Capital' of India. Matthias Jabs the lead guitarist was amazed by the feel of performing in Shillong which is so different form other places in India. Shillong over the last few years have seen a whole lot of performances by western bands which included Petra, Firehouse, MLTR, Air Supply and also performances by Iron Maiden's front man Paul Di Anno and Mr. Big
