Indian to be the next American Idol?

American born Indian Anoop Desai has made it to the last thirteen of American Idol. The number might be considered unlucky by many around the world but surely not for Anoop. The North Carolina born singer's skills ensured that a special place was created in the final list as the format of the show allows only 12 contestants in the last round.

Host of the show Ryan Seacrest explained that the move came as a result of the shock that fans expressed in the past when deserving candidates could not make it to the final round of the show.
